SERVO DRIVES FOR A SMALL CRAFT TOWING TANK
In cooperation with AS Baltic Workboats, we fulfilled the order of TTU Kuressare college`s Small Craft Competence Centre to design, deliver and install Lenze`s servo drives as well as power and security systems for the carriage and the wave generator. The servo drives are operated over EtherCat. The 60 metre towing tank is used to study the characteristics of various small craft models at different speeds and wave conditions. Estonia`s small craft builders need these close-to-reality test conditions to develop safe, fast, and also energy- and material-efficient hulls. For more information visit http://www.scc.ee
MODERNISATION OF A MEAT CUTTER
In 2018, commissioned by Linnamäe Lihatööstus AS, we modernised a 90 kW meat cutter electrical system by equipping it with a variable frequency drive (Picture 4). This mainly resulted in reduced the starting current and reduced load but also simplified the control system. Previously, the large starting current was interfering with other machinery. The installed high protection level (IP55) VFD does not need a separate cabinet and can be cleaned with water.
MODERNISATION OF ELECTRICAL TRACTION DRIVES IN HELSINKI TRAMS
In 2005–2012, commissioned by Helsinki City Transport (HKL), we modernised electrical systems of various trams. In addition we designed electrical systems for the added low floor section. We also designed and manufactured analogue and microprocessor controlled control cards for the electrical systems. These control cards are used daily in up to 82 trams, carrying as many as 15 000 residents of Helsinki simultaneously.
ELECTRONICS TESTER HKL commissioned
Energiatehnika LLC to design and build an automatic tester for a tram`s electronic devices. The machine can test 23 different electronic devices. Testing is performed automatically or by manual tuning or fault finding step by step.The tester allows very fast, accurate and complete testing of complex electronic devices without the need for highly qualified personnel. Test results are stored automatically and sent to a server.
HIGH FREQUENCY HIGH VOLTAGE SOURCE
European Spallation Source or ESS (spallation – a process where fragments of material are ejected from the body due to impact or stress) is a Sweden-based proton accelerator. It is set to start operating in 2019. Because of the large scale and advanced technical design of the accelerator project there are many partners around the world to help with the development process. One of those partners is Tallinn University of Technology (TTU). Energiatehnika LLC won the national procurement to develop and build a power source and a test module for the pulse transformer used in the ESS. The test transformer emits 10 kV impulses with a total power of up to 0.5 MW. Direct voltage reaches 40 kV.
